Communication 2.0 - How an online invoicing company is engaging it’s customers - An interview with Saul Colt of Freshbooks

Started by Dave Delaney · 11 months ago

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Saul Colt at several conferences over the last year and on Twitter. He’s always outgoing and eager to chat, he’s also a fellow Canuck. Saul is the Head of Magic (really) at Freshbooks, an online invoicing company which “pushes the envelope”.

Freshbooks has garnered plenty of notice by influential blogs [...] ... Continue reading »

  • Only "The Smartest Man on Earth" could try to make time tracking sexy. Nice interview!
  • Nice interview. Quick and on point! I am opening a drive-in theater and we have been using our blog, Facebook, and Twitter to help keep people informed about what is going on. It has been nice because we get to see a direct reaction via comments to our posts. When we posted that we were moving out opening to the Spring of 2009 we still got direct positive feedback.

With a news paper ad we would not have been able to directly measure our success.
  • Thanks very much Arron. I am a big movie fan and supporting of independent
theatres, so I'm all about the drive-in! Please let me know if I can help
spread the word when you're opening. Where is it?

Here's a post I wrote a while back about my favorite video store:

Let me know more about the Drive-In. Cheers.
  • I read the post that you linked to. I was very surprised when we started working on the project how much nostalgia it brought out in people. I get many e-mails from people in our area about the drive-ins that have been closed for almost 30 years.

We're planning on opening in the Spring of 2009. We are located in Davenport, Iowa. You can read a little about us, and see some news coverage at our website. http://www.davenportdrivien.com

I saw in your post that the video store has lost many hand written movie reviews. That is rather sad. So few video stores nowadays show a passion for movies. My favorite video store used to be a place where I could walk up to the counter and ask if there was "anything good?". That place is closed so now I must resort to blockbuster.
  • Yes, and even Blockbuster is quickly becoming a dinosaur:

I don't live near any good video stores, so I'm not using
    NetFlix<http://rss.netflix.com/QueueRSS?id=P1313838054172115866559122136122915>,
which I love. I do miss the act of interacting and talking with people about
the films, but sadly those days are quickly disappearing.

Best of luck with your drive-in. Don't forget to check those trunks for
    extra bodies!
