Please do share it with your friends and colleagues if you find it helpful. That's what my goal is.

Shanna, you may consider yourself a "newbie", but remember there's less than 1 million Twitter users. There's over 60 million Facebook peeps. So, consider yourself an early adopter :-)

Cheers.
Dave

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

Hey Dave - great presentation. I was able to solidify some of the things I've learned plus was able to glean a lot of new things. I missed NewBCamp in Providence last week. I feel like I just watched what I missed there regarding Twitter. I joined Twitter beginning Jan. '08 now have abt 180 followers. I am definitely a "newbie" in the world of new media. Thanks for shedding more light on the picture for me. :)

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

Thanks Dave! I'm a big fan of Creepy Sleepy. In fact I need to up date my Listening section on my blog to include your show.

I have a beginners Twitter tutorial here too if you're interested: http://snurl.com/1ymea

Cheers!
Dave

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

Dave - thanks for this. I've been looking for ways to explain this simple (yet so, so complex) service to friends and business associates for a long time. It's a bit like explaining TiVo: super easy to use, hard to explain.
Your video is really helpful!
http://twitter.com/creepysleepy loves you ;)

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

Britt you rule! Thanks so much for your feedback. I really appreciate your insight. You've got some great and very valid points there. All are great sources to track web traffic and trends.

Cheers,
Dave

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

For not having presented since college, I thought you did a really nice job. To recap my feedback from Twitter:

1. Break up block of text on Huh? slide
2. When talking about the user name, it might be helpful to mention using the same one across all social media (Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce, etc.)
3. Instead of using graphs, see if you can find interesting pictures of "typical" Tweeters to represent your data.
4. When talking about search, it wasn't 100% clear that you were using secondary services, plus I don't believe I heard anything about using a Twitter client
5. One other thing I remembered...I'm not sure you need to have the in-between slides that list all your bullet points for any one section. You just repeat the information when you get to the individual slides and that might give you enough time at the end for q&a.

Congrats, Dave.

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

Nice presentation, Dave. The search function is actually not part of Twitter. It can be found here: http://tweetscan.com

Did you find any misspellings? Any lost tweets you may have missed?

Re: How to build your brand using Twitter (in 140 characters or less)

It's actually done really well. I like it a lot, it really sums it up! I specifically like that you set the boundaries for twitter - the unwritten twitter etiquette.

I was trying to find the search function that you were explaining. (where you were explaining how to look for tweets that are addressed to you, but your name might have been missspelled) Couldnt find it!

Cheers, Hans
